Our Team

Steven MacNamara, CFA.

I have had a lifelong love of reading. I read constantly and have a personal library of approximately 500 books on investing/history/biographies. My favorite book is April 1865: The Month That Saved America, by Jay Winik.  It describes the period just before/just after the Confederate surrender at Appomattox and paints a picture of what the country could have become, in both positive and negative ways, but didn’t based on the events of that month.

Steve MacNamara, Director of Equities

Steve MacNamara is responsible for managing the firm’s equity discipline, and overseeing all the firm’s equity strategies. He brings over 30 years of equity research and leadership experience to Howe & Rusling. Prior to joining Howe & Rusling, Steve was the CIO of Wescott Financial Advisory Group, and the CEO of Horizons West Capital Partners, LLC. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.

Outside of work, one of Steve’s hobbies is growing a variety of hot peppers, including very exotic peppers, which he’s been doing for 20 years! He also periodically participates in regional BBQ contests (which is terrifying).
